beijing capital international airport is 25 kilometers away from the center of beijing. it is a 4f class civil airport. it is one of the three portal complex hubs in china, a member of the international air cargo hub group around the bohai sea region and a super large airport in the world.
beijing capital international airport was built in 1958. on january 1, 1980, the supporting projects of t1 terminal building, apron and parking apron in front of the building were completed and put into operation. on november 1, 1999, t2 terminal was officially put into use, while t1 terminal began to be decorated. on september 20, 2004, t1 terminal was put into operation again. in 2008, the airport expansion project (t3 terminal) was completed.
at present, beijing capital international airport has three terminal buildings with a total area of 1.41 million square meters, two 4e runways and one 4f runway with a length and width of 3800 x 60 meters, 3200 x 50 meters and 3800 m x 60 meters, 314 aircraft parking seat; 252 domestic and foreign airlines. annual passenger throughput ranks the first in asia and the second in the world, with passenger throughput exceeding 100 million and cargo and postal throughput exceeding 2 million tons.
